Installation began Nov. 1, 2010 for Downtown Atlanta's only outdoor ice skating rink at Centennial Olympic Park. The process takes approximately 2 weeks and involves erecting a 30-by-40 meter tent, building the 108-by-60 foot rink and generating the real ice by hand. The ice rink opens to the public on Nov. 19, 2010.
Once the ice rink is open, visitors can enjoy covered observation seating, theatrical lighting on the real ice and holiday music. The ice rink is open daily through Jan. 30, 2010, including all holidays. Admission is $7 per person for 90 minutes of skate time and skate rental is an additional $2. College student and group discounts are available.
