As the Executive Director of the Atlanta Chapter, I provide overall operational, financial and programmatic management for its nearly 1700 members. My responsibilities include working closely with volunteer leaders to facilitate long-range planning and establishing organizational objectives and goals. I assist with seeking non-dues revenue opportunities through various programs and activities, chapter sponsorships and collaborative initiatives.

About AIA Atlanta:
Founded in 1906, the Atlanta Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) is a dynamic and diverse professional organization of approximately 1700 members. AIA Atlanta is an energetic, creative, and agile advocate for architects, design professionals, students, and the general public.

With a diverse membership comprised of professionals from a variety of backgrounds–traditional firms, allied professional firms, retired professionals, colleges, universities, government centers, product showrooms, manufacturing facilities, and home offices–all members have one connecting and powerful thread in common: a fine appreciation of architecture and design. AIA Atlanta is the 6th largest chapter is the country - considered a "Big Sib".

AIA Atlanta is well suited to meet any and all levels of interest and expertise in architecture and design, and helps advances the quality of life in our communities through inspiration and leadership in both design and the built environment.

AIA Atlanta has several Community Outreach programs such as Discover Architecture, High School Design Competition, K-12 programs, Mentoring programs and a Tours series.

AIA Atlanta is proud to sponsor the annual AIA Atlanta Tour Series, an exhibition of significant architectural works designed to increase public awareness of noteworthy architectural projects throughout the metro Atlanta area. In addition, the Tour Series strives to better inform the general public about the process of design and the important role of architects and how their work may better the community.

AIA Atlanta Tours Committee:
A volunteer effort with the goal of educating the general public about architecture through guided tours of significant projects in the Atlanta area, committee members guide tours generally from 2 to 5 PM on the 3rd Saturday of each month between April and November/December. Tours are quite popular with attendance levels averaging 100 and are an excellent opportunity for local practices to gain exposure and feedback from the public.

For more information on joining the Tour Committee or for general questions regarding tours, please contact AIA Tours’ Chair, [email protected].
