The concept of ethical leadership and the principles of medical care create an exciting combination for Dr. Lois Robley, Professor of Ethics and Assistant Director of the Siegel Institute for Leadership, Ethics and Character, where she became the Institute’s first full-time faculty member in 2007. As a Professor of Ethics, she participates in the Institute’s Graduate Certificate in Leadership and Ethics Program. In addition, Lois develops and teaches courses in the non-degree Ethical Leadership Certificate Program.

Prior to joining the Siegel Institute in 2007, Lois served for 18 years as a Professor of Nursing at Kennesaw State University’s College of Health and Human Services. In her current position, Lois explores new ways to apply her knowledge of ethics to the principles of the Siegel Institute – building ethical leaders from the inside out around the world. Recognizing that the field of ethics is important in any walk of life, Lois constantly synthesizes her expertise with the need for ethical leadership in the realm of academics, the business world, and the local community. In particular, Lois specializes in healthcare ethics, corporate ethics, end-of-life ethics, teaching ethics, professional ethics, ethics in leadership, ethical theory, and the ethical care of the vulnerable – topics that form the subject matter of many of her presentations.

In addition, Lois’ research, publications, community service, and excellence in teaching have been the catalysts for numerous recognitions and awards throughout her career. In 2003, Lois was the recipient of the WellStar Distinguished Scholar in Ethics position, and she continues to serve an active role at the Siegel Institute as a speaker, researcher and writer of ethics articles.
