Whether at Home or the Office, It’s All About Parenting for Daybook Expert Stacey DeWitt

As if the demands of being a busy parent today aren’t enough, Stacey DeWitt also keeps busy as a parenting expert.

As if the demands of being a busy parent today aren’t enough, Stacey DeWitt also keeps busy as a parenting expert. Her company, Connect with Kids is among the leading news and information sources for parents across the country.

Heading a staff of researchers, video producers and writers, DeWitt is CEO of Atlanta-based Connect with Kids.

Founded in 1998, Connect with Kids produces the Emmy® award-winning Connect with Kids television series - 10 television programs each year, targeted to parents about the issues kids face everyday. These inspiring half-hour specials feature real kids sharing their true stories, broadcast on 60 television stations throughout the country — ABC, NBC, CBS and FOX affiliates - reaching 65 percent of U.S. households.

Connect with Kids programs cover topics such as bullying, obesity, teen sexuality, self-injury, body image and other topics that impact teens, adolescents and their parents.

Hundreds of school districts use Connect with Kids

DeWitt's firm has also developed more than 120 programs with curriculum for elementary, middle and high school students - and their parents. Some of the largest school districts in the country are successfully using these programs in classrooms and parent groups.

With more than 6,000 hours of original broadcast-quality footage — exclusively about children’s social, emotional and physical health, Connect with Kids is recognized nationally as a source for news and trends about kids.

A Television and Legal Background

DeWitt brings the culmination of a substantial legal and media career as well as a passion for child advocacy to her role as CEO. DeWitt has 17 years of experience as a television anchor, reporter and producer for ABC, NBC and PBS network affiliates.

Before starting Connect with Kids in 1997, DeWitt was a practicing attorney serving as a litigator, a lobbyist for the Arkansas Bar Association and a deputy prosecutor. As a practicing attorney, DeWitt created and produced a series of legal information shows broadcast on statewide public television.

DeWitt regularly speaks about parenting and children’s social and emotional issues. Atlanta-based media can contact Ginger Schlanger at 770-653-8701.
